Puerto Aventuras is a small resort community nudged in between Playa del Carmen and Tulum. Often ranked as one of the most family-friendly locations in Mexico, here the waters are calm and there are fewer crowds, as the area doesn’t cater to rowdy partiers.
Visitors usually come for the large marina, golf course, and of course, the white-sand beaches where scuba diving, sailing, swimming with dolphins, fishing and the occasional snorkel tour, are all popular pastimes.
In addition to families, plenty of couples looking for a relaxing location come to the area, as there are several adults-only resorts located nearby.
The best time to visit Puerto Aventuras is between April and May, when day temperatures hover between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, dropping to around 60 degrees during the evening. From October to March, the climate is generally dry and slightly warm. Summer days and nights tend to offer high temperatures and humidity. Hurricane season lasts from June to September, so check weather forecasts and hurricane warnings before booking your trip.
However, alternative options include underground river tours, jungle adventures, catamaran sailing, cenotes and many more. If year-round sunshine, and a peaceful resort lifestyle is what you are after, then Puerto Aventuras is the place to be.
