Palmeras Restaurant has its origin in 1966, when Don Eduardo Ruiz arrived on the Island of Cozumel and decided to create his own business, an inn he called “Pepes”, then situated in the opposite side of the old town’s market. After changes in urban planning his children opened a new restaurant in the summer of 1976, Palmeras.
Visitors will enjoy a gastronomic experience touched by a rich variety of food, including recipes that have delighted customers for almost 40 years. For locals and regular visitors the tradition of hanging out in Palmeras to have coffee, breakfast, business lunches or just chat among friends, has grown from generation to generation for nearly four decades.
Palmeras is an historic icon and remains the most popular meeting place both for tourists who visit the island and its inhabitants, thanks to its strategic location in front of the ferry dock in the heart of the city.
