La Malinche Volcano Climb

La Malinche, located in the state of Tlaxcala east of Mexico City, is an inactive stratovolcano with a height of 14,640 feet (4,462 meters). Set in a region that is mainly farmland growing mostly field “dent” corn, the forests that cloak this mountain transition from alders and various types of oak to Montezuma pines and sacred firs with increasing elevation.

This is a very popular choice for hikers of all experience levels as many routes, from easy to advanced, are available.
