La Malinche Volcano Climb
La Malinche, located in the state of Tlaxcala east of Mexico City, is an inactive stratovolcano with a height of 15,000 feet. Set in a region that is mainly farmland growing mostly field “dent” corn, the forests that cloak this mountain transition from alders and various types of oak to Montezuma pines and sacred firs with increasing elevation.
This is a very popular choice for hikers of all experience levels as many routes, from easy to advanced, are available. Your professional guide will ensure that you pace yourself for the ascent to the top from where you will be able to see the stunning views of the Pico de Orizaba, Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes.
