The State of Oaxaca alone boasts almost 700 species and almost 100 regional endemics. Accompany indigenous birding guides on a journey of discovery deep into the mountains of rural Oaxaca.

DAY 1:
Visit Oaxaca City’s Botanical Gardens and learn about bird ringing (banding).
Travel to the community of Santa Maria del Tule and explore their local market.
At the Llano Grande Community install mist nets.
Overnight in Llano Grande.

DAY 2:
Early morning mist net opening.
Bird ringing and data collection.
Evening banding of owls.
Overnight in Llano Grande.

DAY 3:
Early morning mist net opening.
Bird ringing and data collection.
Evening banding of owls.
Overnight in Llano Grande.

DAY 4:
Visit the village of Teotitlán del Valle.
Return transfer to Oaxaca City.
